A Perfect Ordinary Day

What made today perfect...it started last night...at Denny's...with my princesses.  Who thanked me for such a fun evening out with their friends, and such great food.  Then fell asleep and slept the sleep of the just and innocent.  I love that phrase, there must be no better sleep.

This morning, one at a time, they presented themselves in their sparkly nightgowns begging to watch TV.  Then forgot about TV and played with each other, ate  cereal, took turns sitting on my lap and telling me secrets and then got themselves ready for school.  To preschool with excitement and a game of hide and seek...and all of a sudden...we were 15 minutes early.  To the chagrin of the teachers who want to start their day at the last minute.  So sorry.

Then off to work and talked to my long distant friend.  She has been my friend for ages and now distance is just space, we chat like crazy for the ride to work.

At work I learn something new and use some skills I didn't remember I had.  Felt challenged and useful.  A successful day at the office.

After work a trip to my Dr. with all these kids, who just behaved so well, I wanted to cry.  I'm glad I gave them the chance to behave well.  They did not disappoint.

Then home, finally some TV, kids take a  jaunt in the jacuzzi and all of a sudden more kids from the neighborhood are running through the house and I am cooking dinner.  A yummy one for me...kids will pick it apart and eat fruit, but who's complaining?  They didn't, just ate and thanked me.  Oh, maybe it is because I gave them ice cream first.

Then as we were tucking into bed, another friend pops over and is guest story teller for the evening.  We chat a bit, she rides off on her bike and I come up here to write, because I can't wait to share my perfect ordinary day.

It's a great life, I am thankful for it.  God has blessed me beyond belief and made golden this lovely day.  Amen.
