Here's my simple recipe to beat the blues:
1 ) Read something, anything out of the bible, and pray out loud. (1 - 10 minutes)
2 ) Exercise. (10 - 60 minutes)
3 ) Garden. (1 minute...pulling a weed - 5 hours...major overhaul)
4 ) Do something extra nice for my daughters. (1 minute - all day long)
5 ) Talk to a friend, not about myself. (1 - 20 minutes)
6 ) Cook or bake for someone else (5 - 60 minutes) yes it can be toast or a can of soup
1 and 2 are not negotiable. 3, 4, 5 and 6 can be mixed, matched or nixed as fits the day.
In as little as 11 minutes, I can have a brighter day. Bring on the sunshine.
